Friends, fabric shopping and a lot of laughter

Last weekend was spent in the company of my three favourite fabric-loving friends, Florence, Jo and Lisa. I feel like I've had a lovely holiday after a day of shoe and fabric shopping, chatting, giggling, and eating. I am a terrible shopper normally, terminally indecisive, so it's testament to what fantastic company these ladies are that I came away with both shoes and a healthy stack of fabrics to add to my stash. I also came away with a pulled muscle in my shoulder - hard to know whether this is to be attributed to a) too much laughter b) carrying too much fabric c) emulating Florence's demonstration of how to fold your body in half whilst in the lotus position.

I've no idea what I'll use the fabrics I bought for yet, but it's nice to know they're there. I think I may have found the binding fabric for my stacked coin quilt in the pink freshcut print though. I'm torn between this or the green dotty Tanya Whelan print I've already used in the quilt. Decisions, decisions ...

coin quilt binding?

What do you think?

  4. oooh don't ask me - I couldn't possibly decide. I haven't even taken the fabrics out of the bag properly yet to have an inkling of what might happen to them.

  5. Oh dear...perhaps cabin beds aren't so good for grown-ups? Or perhaps there was a piece of lego under the mattress and you've just proved yourself to be some kind of modern-day princess.

I think the pink would make a lovely quilt binding. x

  7. Your shopping trip sounded lots of fun, great fabrics too. I'd go for the green dotty fabric as a binding.

  11. I really like the pink one. Since you already have a dotty fabric in your quilt, I would go with something NOT dotty so it does not take away. The quilt is really pretty. I love those colors. I am thinking of making a little 'kitty' quilt for my furry little one.

  12. The pink - it seems more of a contrast against the white and looks like it will anchor all the pinks. But you should ignore me, as I've been too scared to attempt anything more than a doll quilt and have no idea what I am talking about...
